Multiply Family Learning

March 15, 2023

We had a great time this morning at Family Learning baking. The children were brilliant bakers helping their Mums and Dads with weighing and measuring, cracking eggs, sieving flour and mixing everything together with the wooden spoons.

We sang ‘5 little buns in a baker’s shop’ while we waited for the cakes to bake in the oven and listened to a story about a little boy called Zed who liked baking bread. We also looked at a children’s baking book with lots of ideas for recipes to try at home.

When the cakes came out of the oven they looked lovely and smelled great, it was hard to wait for them to be cool enough to try! We made banana muffins with sultanas and chocolate chips- yum yum!

Another great baking session today at nursery. We make banana muffins like last week, here is the recipe if anyone would like to bake them at home. We had some tiny brilliant bakers today who did very well to join in and keep up with the older ones! Lots of great stirring, weighing and measuring from all the children and we all thought the cakes we made were delicious. Next Tuesday morning March 28th we will be making something to play with rather than eat- rainbow playdoh! Please let the office know if you would like to attend.
