This week at Nature story time we have listened to ‘stick man’ by Julia Donaldson. We then went on a nature walk and made our own ‘journey sticks’. All you need to try this fun activity at home is a stick and a piece of string or wool- wrap the string round the stick and go for a little walk, children can collect leaves, petals and feathers and stick them through the wool wrapped round the stick. You can talk about the things they collect on the way and take the stick home to remind you of your ‘journey’
We Made dandelion crowns as it is the kings coronation this week- don’t they look lovely! We also made nature pattern pictures with leaves and flowers we found. We put our leaves in flowers in between a piece of cloth and squished and squashed them with a pebble until the dye came out of the plants onto the cloth, we think they look beautiful!
